Notice of Necessary Care
You may be wondering, “why does your office mail me notices of necessary care?” Quality is a primary driver of care not only for our office but for the health care industry overall. There are three methods of measurement at the core of quality scoring. One of those measures involves making sure our patients receive the care recommended by national guidelines and their individual insurance plans.
Each month we receive a list of our patients from the various insurance companies listing the patients with needed testing or visits such as cancer screenings, immunizations, chronic care measures, or routine visits like well-child care or health maintenance exams (HME).
We then flag patient charts to notify your provider you need those items of care. Sometimes however, other issues present at your visit prevent these items from receiving attention. We will then send out reminders from our office or partner with your insurance company to do so to remind you of these items.
When you receive one of these notices, please call to schedule the type of care described, or let us know if you have received the care at another location. If you receive one of these notices but you do not receive care from one of our providers, please notify your insurance carrier of your preferred provider (name/location).
